Your Hard Work and Dedication Come With an Incredible Perk
As a full-time FCPS educational, administrative, or support employee, you contribute to ERFC—your supplemental pension. Stay five years (or more!) with FCPS and you’ll receive an ERFC pension on top of your state pension from the Virginia Retirement System (VRS). FCPS is one of the few school districts to reward employees with a second pension. As you progress toward retirement, take advantage of these ERFC resources to better understand the value of this amazing benefit.

Things to Do
Keep your personal information (name, address, phone, and email) updated in UConnect.
Contact the ERFC call center at 703-426-3900, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with any questions.
When Am I Considered Vested?
You’re considered vested after five years of full-time service with FCPS. That means that when it’s time to retire, you'll be eligible to receive a second pension from ERFC.
Schedule a Question Session at Any Stage of Your Career
We're here to help. Call us at 703-426-3900, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to schedule a 30-minute Question Session. You can choose a virtual appointment or meet with a retirement specialist in person at the ERFC office. A few things to note:
- The session will only cover ERFC-related information. If you have questions regarding VRS, FCERS, or FCPS HR Benefit information, please contact those organizations directly.
- ERFC cannot provide financial advice regarding taxes, estate planning, or retirement date selection. Please contact a professional tax or financial advisor to help you with those questions.
- Before the session, please run your retirement estimate in ERFCDirectso that your retirement specialist can discuss that information with you.
What If I Leave FCPS?
If you leave an ERFC-covered position with FCPS, you have two options when it comes to your ERFC accumulated contributions.
